Philadelphia Insurance Companies Extends Title Sponsorship of the Philadelphia Insurance Triathlon
July 14, 2008 (Philadelphia, PA) – Philadelphia Triathlon LLC, producer of the world-class Philadelphia Insurance Triathlon, announced today that Philadelphia Insurance Companies has extended its title sponsorship of the popular triathlon through 2011.
Founded in 2005, the Philadelphia Insurance Triathlon presented by Suzuki has grown from a one day race into a triathlon festival weekend with three days of competition and activities. This June, over 4,000 athletes competed in the sprint and Olympic distance races, kids races and kids duathlons.

Held on the Schuylkill River and throughout Fairmount Park, the Philadelphia Insurance Triathlon was named a top-five triathlon in the United States by Outside Magazine last year and lauded as one of the top big city triathlons in the January 2008 issue of Inside Triathlon magazine. The Philadelphia Insurance Triathlon Olympic distance race also served as the 2008 USA Triathlon Mid-Atlantic Regional Championship. Philadelphia Insurance Companies has served as the event’s title sponsor since 2006.
