Title Sponsor Philadelphia Insurance Companies Posts a $6,000 Bonus to The Winning Team at the PHLYTRI on June 26
Philadelphia, PA (June 13, 2011) – The Philadelphia-based Fuji and Kestrel brands are set to bring their ongoing Tri Wars, a season-long competition pitting Fuji sponsored pros against Kestrel sponsored pros, to the 7th Annual Philadelphia Insurance Triathlon on June 26. Event Title Sponsor Philadelphia Insurance Companies has jumped into the fray and stoked the fire by posting a $6,000 bonus prize for the team with the best combined time at the PHLYTRI International Distance race on June 26. PHLY will offer additional incentive for the Tri Wars competition leading into the Ironman World Championships and/or 70.3 World Championships, with details to be announced following the PHLYTRI.
To date, Fuji and Kestrel pros scheduled to battle it out at the PHLYTRI are Matt Reed, Sara McLarty and Tyler Butterfield representing Team Fuji and Andy Potts, Pip Taylor and Cameron Dye leading Team Kestrel.
"Philadelphia Insurance Companies is proud to be working with Philadelphia-based Fuji and Kestrel brands to bring some of the sport's top athletes to our hometown race," said Jamie Maguire, Chairman and CEO, Philadelphia Insurance Companies. "The PHLYTRI is one of the top multisport events in the country and by including the bonus prize to the Fuji-Kestrel Tri Wars we've added yet another layer of fun and competition to our world-class event."
"These athletes all want to win. But to add a little fuel to the fire will certainly get some juices flowing," says Chris Mesigian, Fuji's marketing manager. "It's fantastic to have Philadelphia Insurance's support of our great pros. Besides, I’m looking forward to Team Fuji's celebratory dinner afterwards."
"In his dreams," responded Steve Harad, brand manager for Kestrel.
