Philadephia Insurance Triathlon, LLC was founded by Alan Morrison and Jon Reichlin, successful local businessmen and avid triathletes who saw the need for a city the size of Philadelphia, the home to many triathletes, to again have its own race - and to make it a first class event.
Lars Beck has served as the Race Director in the race's first two years and will continue to do so in 2007. He is joined by Barb McKeever as the Assistant Race Director. She has also served in this role for each of the even'ts first two years.
The Philadelphia Insurance Team is committed to delivering a fun, safe, and challenging race that provides entertainment and competition for athletes and their families, while giving back to the community.
An Advisory Board of area triathletes of all levels has assisted us in critiquing the course and will continue to provide valuable feedback on many race details. This will be an event by triathletes and for triathletes! (Even our attorney is an Ironman distance triathlete!)
Philadephia Insurance Triathlon in Fairmount Park™ will be a fun, safe and challenging race that provides entertainment and competition for athletes and their families, while giving back to the community. Philadephia Insurance Triathlon, LLC will donate a portion of race proceeds to the Fairmount Parks Commission to enhance and beautify the region and to selected area charities.
Our pledge to our fellow triathletes and their families is simple:
